We've been asked many times if our sourdough bread freezes well and the answer to this question is yes. If you wish to freeze the whole loaf or half of the loaf, you can easily do it by putting the bread in Ziplock and place it in the freezer. To unfreeze and/or refresh the sourdough loaf of bread simply follow the steps that are listed below, and you will have “freshly baked” like sourdough bread. Step 1: If you have your loaf in the freezer, take it out of the freezer the night before and let it thaw overnight, do not remove from Ziplock. Step 2: When the loaf is room temperature, pre-heat the oven for 400 F. Step 3: Once the oven pre-heated, rinse the loaf in the faucet just enough to wet the crust and place the loaf on parchment paper in the oven for 20-25 minutes. After 20-25 minutes your bread will be crusty outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It is that easy! You can use this technique to refresh your bread just start with the Step 2. I hope this was helpful. As always, thank you for supporting our home bakery. Sincerely,
Alex and Lena |
